I own a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. I am the just owner. Last year 2009, it of a sudden started having a jerking motion whenever I finish and and so accelerate. Information technology got so bad that I took it to the dealer and they charged me $695 to fix what they said was a transmission seal leak. It ran ok for a while and then I stated noticing that I would be driving downward the highway and then all of a sudden the gear would shift and on the dash indicator it would exist showing that the gear is in park, contrary, neutral or something else other than drive. I would accept to pull off the to the side of the road, switch the engine off and on a couple of times earlier the mistake would correct itself. Today June xxx, 2022, I was driving when dash indicator flipped to neutral and and so the vehicle started slowing down. By the time I got to pull off the road the vehicle went completely dead and I had to get a tow truck to move it off the road. I am noticing that in that location have been a lot of complaints on this exact trouble, but there has non been a call up. The tow truck driver says my manual seems to exist completely shot. I think it is fourth dimension for the ODI to issue a recall on these vehicles for this problem, and then owners do not have to foot the bill for repairs on these vehicles. I will exist contacting Isuzu head quarters with a complaint, but I am certain that they volition non have responsibility as they accept neglected to inform consumers of this problem and so they can get vehicles checked before serious problems occur. Now I volition be stuck with paying for repairs to replace the transmission when Isuzu is clearly aware of the trouble only has neglected to set up information technology.

Manual began hard shifting and slipping. Took information technology to dealer and dealer installed a new manual servo cover and replaced 4 quarts of manual fluid. Dealer indicated that original servo encompass had cracked and indicated verbally this was condign common. Problem was repaired under warranty but if this repair is becoming mutual and can issue in complete transmission failure a warning should be issued to warning owners of this problem so the servo cover can be replaced before it's failure causes larger problems.

Vehicle'due south automatic transmission unpredictably and uncontrollably, on more than than one occasion while driving on the highway at sixty mph, shifted out of "drive" and into "park" on the command panel indicator, while the stick shift was withal engaged in "bulldoze." This resulted in a very alarming jerking feeling and loss of forward velocity. The only way to stop this situation and render to normal was to brake, pull over into the highway'south shoulder, put the gear shift into "park, " turn off the vehicle'south ignition, wait a few seconds, and so turn the vehicle back on. Later on this occurred two or three times, I became concerned that this could lead to a serious safety problem and potential accident then I took the vehicle to an Isuzu dealer for repairs and they replaced the transmission mode switch and cleared the lawmaking for a total toll of $350. The service manager indicated that the same problem had been institute with other Isuzu Rodeo vehicles and knew exactly what the problem was based on my initial description of the problem. If this trouble is beingness found with other isusu Rodeos congenital in 2002, there could be a more widespread rubber problem that should be investigated.

I have less than 55,000 miles on my 2002 Rodeo. A month ago when trying to accelerate, the gear shift from ane to 2nd was almost impossible. The truck would shake and shudder and start to stall earlier kicking into gear - making my inability to operate very susceptible to accidents (luckily I had none). I took to a local mechanic who informed me that my manual my exist shot completely - I had leaked iv qrts of fluid with no indication that I was low. When he ordered the part from the local dealer - he admitted to me that with other vehicles it is rare that these parts are bachelor and need to be back ordered and that B/C they had on hand this must exist a common problem. He sealed the leaks (there were several). All the same, this has not solved the problem the transmission is still leaking and I'grand non sure is there would be any resolve with replacing the entire transmission. If this is a common problem with Rodeo transmission and is a defective part then a recall is in social club.

I have a 2002 Isuzu Rodeo ls with a six cylinder engine and a two wheel drive automated transmission. The transmission is sealed and the owner's manual requires service at 120,000 miles. I have never driven the vehicle nether extreme conditions, and I have never towed anything behind the vehicle. Withal, my manual recently started to shudder and lurch when the vehicle initially accelerated from low to second gear. When this problem began, the vehicle had about 55,500. The trouble grew progressively worse, and I took it for service at about 56,000. The dealership to which I took the car brash me that a role in the transmission had gone bad and that they had seen like problems with like vehicles and that Isuzu had a replacement role to correct this problem. If information technology is indeed a defective function, I think a recall may be warranted for prophylactic reasons. Most notably, the problem caused my car to momentarily stop accelerating in low gear, and on ane occasion, the delayed acceleration acquired a close call considering my car momentarily stalled in the centre of a left-hand plough. The other concern is that after shuddering and not accelerating, the vehicle would of a sudden catch the gear and lurch forwards, once again, a safey business organisation due to the unexpected movement of the car.
